Jumping on the bandwagon …for the nth time.

May 27, 2008

Once again, I have entered into the blogging world.

My first blog was in Xanga and it contained entries about basically anything that came into mind–what happened to me that day, my current manga obsession, the occasional deep thought, dreams, and the bishounens that cross my path. They were classic “Dear Diary” moments and even if, inwardly, I know that it would seem amusing (because I am totally detailed on how I write my entries) to the outside reader, I’m quite glad that I wrote those entries.

Despite having not written in it for more than 2 years, I can’t bring myself to delete it. Because: 1) It has sentimental value (I’ve been writing in it for 2 years) and 2) It doesn’t allow me to back up my entries (last time I checked) nor allow me to extract my entries. And because I’m a sentimental person (I’m the type who hoards those useless things), I don’t want to delete it until I have copies of my entries! (I write them really, really detailed.) On the other hand, I’m glad I don’t update that anymore because my stalker has found that site, and read every embarrassing detail and informed me after he’s read it. (I know blogs are public but there are some things you don’t want certain people to read. …Like, everyone else (i.e. strangers and people whom you’ve given the site address) can read it but them.)

My second blog was in Blogspot. That didn’t exactly work out very well. It was a group blog but they hardly updated it. I was its admin and despite frequent reminders to them, they only updated once every two months at the least. I couldn’t exactly blame them since I, myself wasn’t very active.

There were other blogs that I were testing out too but were probably too insignificant for me to remember (i.e. one to no post at all).

Let us hope this one survives. :-) …Why? Because I just love hashing out my opinions, unsolicited or not. ;-)

…If you don’t get my logic, just let it be. I confuse myself sometimes too. :-)

Clues for the clueless:
1) Manga – Japanese graphic novel
2) Bishounens – literally means “Beautiful boy”

  1. Good luck on your new blog. :] I used to be on Xanga too (still am – with Pro) but I don’t post there as often. I’d be hesitant to delete that one too because I blogged there for years and making each on private would be too time consuming.

  2. Thanks! :D I really liked Xanga because of the highly customizable interface and it was user-friendly. It’s a good site to start out blogging. (Last I experienced it anyway, …and that would be 2 years ago. Lol.)

  3. I agree, the customizable interfaces are user-friendly and fun to play with. It was definitely an upgrade from Diayland (2002). WP is easy to use as well. That’s one reason why I decided to start my new blog here.

  4. Yeah, it is once you get used to it. :D Admittedly, I had a hard time starting out though. *blush*
