Once to exist and once to live.
June 14, 2008We are, so to speak, born twice: once to exist and once to live.
- Jean Jacques Rosseau, Emilie
This quote was stated in Amatsuki’s volume 2. I found it quite catchy and I’ve already found myself taking a liking to it. X3 I’ve just finished reading Vol 2 of Amatsuki and, as usual, I find myself in between states of confusion and awe. (Which, btw, I know is a bit of a line. ^_^; ) In this volume, Tokidoki’s role is explained with more detail, although not necessarily more helpful for the reader. Again, the driving force that pushes me to continue on with this story is the art and a bit of curiosity as to what will happen next.
Kuchiha’s secret is revealed and it seems that Kon (admittedly to my surprise) also has a mysterious part in the events that have transpired. Additional characters are introduced, all with their own parts to play in “heaven’s net”.
I have, however, little to no hint on what the characters in Toki and Kon’s world involvement are in the story. That’s the bad part. The transitions between events seem to be a little too abrupt for my taste.
I’m still going to continue reading this though. Attribute it to my stubbornness or curiosity. I can’t stand not knowing. X3 (Unless a story happens to be exceptionally bad.)
